Taylor

Taylor Swift may be the most unusual of pop stars. She was an artist who was able to effectively bridge the gap between country and pop, conquering the globe. Swift removed the influences of country in the sense that they had been added as an extra layer of skin. She revealed that she was among the finest singers/songwriters from her time. Swift could make the occasion personal, or use it for her benefit. These skills were evident on her earliest hits especially the neo-tribute Tim McGraw but her second album in 2008's Fearless showed a writer discovering the person she really was, and in the process, finding an audience of mass. The album ended up with a lot of appeal not just within the U.S. where it racked up six platinum singles thanks to Top Ten hits Love Story and You Belong with Me but throughout the world, with a particular success within Australia, U.K. Canada and Australia. The Swift's Speak Now album released two years ago consolidated her previous popularity and launched the singer into superstardom. She grew in popularity throughout the three albums that followed - Red (2012) 1989 (2014) and Reputation (2017). Swift was now firmly established within a genre where she belonged. Her popularity grew even after she changed her strategy by releasing 2020's streamlined the folk singer (and Evermore) and stayed at the top of the charts.
