Reese Witherspoon feetLaura Jeanne Reese Witherspoon, born on 22nd March 1976 is an American actress. She has been the recipient of numerous awards such as an Academy Award, a British Academy Film Award, an Emmy Award, Primetime Emmy Award, and two Golden Globe Awards, she has always been a top performer among the top-paid actresses in the world. Time magazine and Forbes both named her among the 100 most influential people on the world in the years the years of 2015 and 2006 both. In 2021, Forbes named her the world's richest actress with an estimated amount of $400 million.Witherspoon began her acting career as a teenager, making her screen debut in The Man in the Moon (1991). Her breakout came in 1999, with her role as a support in Cruel Intentions as well as her portrayal of Tracy Flick in the black comedy Election. Her performances in Legally Blonde (2001 and its sequel 2003) and in Sweet Home Alabama (2002 ) led to her being recognized more widely. She was awarded the Academy Award for Best Actress for her portrayal of June Carter Cash in the musical biopic Walk the Line. Following a slump in her career, during which Water for Elephants (2011) was her only box office success, Witherspoon decided to make a comeback and produce and perform in Cheryl Strayed, the drama Wild (2014). This led to her getting a second Oscar Award nomination for Best Actress. Since then, she's been working mostly on television, producing and starring in several female-led literary adaptations under her company Hello Sunshine. They include the HBO drama series Big Little Lies (2017-2019), The Apple TV+ drama series The Morning Show (2019-present) as well as the Hulu miniseries Little Fires Everywhere (2020). She won the Primetime Emmy Award in Outstanding Limited Series for the very first time. She directed the film adaptations of Gone Girl (2014) as well as Where the Crawdads Sing (1922). Witherspoon also owns Draper James clothing company and is involved in advocacy organizations for children and women. She is on the board of the Children's Defense Fund and was also honored to serve as the chair of the Avon Foundation's charitable foundation for women's issues in 2007.
