Anna Paquin is a Canadian as well as a New Zealand actress. Paquin is a Canadian and New Zealand actress. Born in Winnipeg but brought up in Wellington She made her first acting appearance on screen in The Piano. In this romantic drama, she was 11 years old, Paquin won her second Oscar for Best Actress. Canadian actor and New Zealander who when she was a child, won the Academy Award in 1993 for the best support actress. She played the feisty daughter of Holly Hunter's role in The Piano. She had little prior experience in acting. At the age of a teen her family left Canada and eventually to United States. Paquin was chosen to play the role of the child in Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre in the year 1996. Also, she was a leading role on the screen in Fly Away Home, a movie from the same year. Paquin played Frankie Addams, a character in Carson McCullers' novel The Member of the Wedding in 1997. In Steven Spielberg's Amistad in 1997 her character was the queen of Spain in a lesser part. She portrayed teenagers in Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000) as well as A Walk on the Moon (2000). She played her character groupie Polexia Aphrodisa on Almost Famous (2000).
